Film Photography in Black & White I

Reduced silver halides is what’s is all about, whether one develops film or develops a print. In this course we will address this process from the ground up. Beginning with taking pictures, getting reacquainted with your camera’s body and lens; understanding apertures for depth of field and special effects; shutter speeds and its relation to light and exposure; your camera’s ISO (International Standard Organization) which also influences exposure, all to create the ideal density of reduced silver that can result in a wonderful print.

Covered in this course will be the following:

  • Understanding your cameras operating functions.

  • Development of film negatives and making contact sheets

  • Operation of the enlarger for proper exposure to the paper.

  • Developing fibre based paper for the best, most archival option.

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
